ALIBEC: Chapter 14 - High-Speed Fawn

In the next match, Sui Ning once again did not let the audience down.

Another clean and simple level-two gank on the side lane—his Three-Tailed Fox successfully forced out the enemy marksman’s Purify and secured first blood. Instead of recalling to mid when the waves met, he looped around the development lane’s triangle bush and camped in the brush between the enemy’s inner and outer turrets.

[A familiar spot, the place where dreams begin.]

[Here we go again, here we go again. Streamer, can you act human for once? Camping the bush at level 3??]

[I’ll speak for the enemy marksman: “Is bot lane your dad or something?”]

“The marksman has no Purify after respawning, the support is under the outer tower. Do you know what that means?” Sui Ning raised a brow. “It means the marksman and support are about to fall out.”

The slain enemy marksman [Brew Coffee] was about to respawn.

Sui Ning explained: “At this point, supports usually have two choices. One is to hold the wave under the tower to stop it from crashing, so when the marksman returns, they won’t fall too far behind in XP. The other is to go back and escort them out.”

[Wait, escort them??? Reverse Little Deer??]

[Why escort?? You’re not a bodyguard.]

[What is this, conjoined twins??]

“A marksman without Purify is basically free food. He already gave first blood. I’m level 4 while he’s level 2.” The young man quietly sat his Three-Tailed Fox in the bush, its tails swaying like poised vipers. “I didn’t go back to mid, and I’m not in the jungle. Where else could I be? If the support was smart, they’d already be heading back before the mid-wave meets. If he doesn’t come, the marksman is dead for sure.”

“If he dies again here, this marksman’s game is over,” Sui Ning said calmly.

He was right. When the Three-Tailed Fox’s vision disappeared, the support should’ve immediately sensed danger. But now the mid-lane waves had already collided, even their own mid had pinged “missing,” yet the enemy support [Silly Jiao] was still under the outer turret, clearly oblivious to how serious the situation was.

The level 2 marksman slowly appeared from under the inner turret’s shadow, step by step walking closer to the bush.

The black-haired youth leaned back in his chair, smiling lazily: “You all kept asking how to control tempo, how to build a lead. Well, here’s a first-person tutorial.”

[Brew Coffee] hadn’t sensed danger either—he was still quarreling with [Silly Jiao] about the first blood.

[Brew Coffee]: Couldn’t you have blocked for me? Would I have died then?

[Silly Jiao]: How the hell do I block? Hm? You don’t know Fox skills are targeted? Cloud player?

[Brew Coffee]: What if he didn’t toggle target lock? If you were close to him, the skill would’ve auto-hit you!

[Silly Jiao]: Stop talking nonsense. You suck, and you’re blaming me?

[Brew Coffee]: You *** bronze-rank scrub, won’t even listen to advice—wtf!

Like the countless times before, [Brew Coffee] strolled past the inner tower bush. But this time, he wouldn’t walk away alive. The Three-Tailed Fox’s level 4 combo was nothing fancy, but without Purify to cleanse the control, he was rooted in place, utterly helpless.

[Fenglan (Three-Tailed Fox) has slain Brew Coffee (Gunslinger Caitlyn)!]

“Game over.”

Sui Ning declared flatly.

[Brew Coffee]: Fuck! Useless support, I’m done. Don’t even know how to escort?!

[Brew Coffee]: Vote!

[Silly Jiao]: Stop throwing the blame on me. Vote if you dare, who’s scared?!

[Brew Coffee]: (All chat) Push mid

[Brew Coffee]: (All chat) My support is braindead, unplayable

[666666]

[What wave is this already? And they’re FF’ing mid. Streamer’s bullying kids like a pro.]

[Honestly, though, this was brutal. Marksman can’t play anymore. After this death, support 5, fox 4, and he’s stuck at 2. How do you play?]

[If it were me, I’d tilt too.]

“Ah, looks like they’re fighting,” Sui Ning blinked innocently, his tone pure and harmless.

[User “Most Handsome in Jiangnan” sent Shark Pillow 15!]

[User “Please Pretend to Love Me” sent Shark Pillow 3!]

[User “I Really Am Brain-Dead” sent Shark Pillow 27!]

Gifts started flooding in, the barrage filled with “666” and “999.” Even if some didn’t fully understand Sui Ning’s gameplay breakdown, they all understood one thing clearly—“the enemy team got tilted by the streamer.”

The big spender [I Really Am Brain-Dead] also asked a question:

[My main is marksman, and I’m already sweating. So what should the marksman do in this situation?]

Sui Ning caught the question: “The best option is to call for backup—have the support stick with you, get mid and jungle to collapse down.”

[What if teammates won’t listen?]

“Then go into the jungle and leech camps for XP. Losing a bit of gold early doesn’t matter, but if you fall behind in levels, you’re doomed. After leeching, you can call jungle to share lane XP with you, which both soothes teammates and ensures you safely hit level 4. Think of it as spending money to hire a bodyguard.” The youth patiently explained.

[That’s actually a fresh tactic, learned something today]

[Content king, love it]

[User “I Really Am Brain-Dead” sent Shark Pillow 30!]

Sui Ning curved his lips into a smile: “Thank you for the gift, boss.”

The boss with the flashy, self-deprecating name replied: [You’re really good.]

“Mm, I think so too.” The young man’s eyes curved into crescents before the camera.

[Enough, too much praise]

[Stop with the streamer fan club commercials already!]

[Damn it, if I had money I’d be licking the streamer up close right now, prprprpr]

Soon after, the game was secured with no real danger, MVP once again going to the elusive Three-Tailed Fox. When asked on stream if he did paid duo-queue services, Sui Ning didn’t refuse: “Sure, I take them all!”

—After a few games with Ji Mengyao and other sporadic customers, his per-game rates had already gone up.

[Excuse me, if I place an order, can I get up close and “gay” the streamer?]

[The one upstairs still half-asleep? My pee is yellow, I’ll go first!]

[Brother… hehehe… brother…]

Aside from some bizarre comments, with Sui Ning’s raw strength on display, it didn’t take long for a thrill-seeking “boss” to place an order.

System notification: [Strawberry Bobo Milk] has joined the team room.

[Wow, that name— is it a girl?!]

[Rich lady, please look at me, sob sob sob]

[First game and already duo’ing with a girl— don’t make us smell the stench of love!]

[Nooo, I don’t approve, I haven’t “gayed” my precious streamer yet!!]

Sui Ning was amused, shaking his head with a smile: “Boss, what position are you playing?”

A rough, booming male voice rang out: “Support, of course! Spirit Fawn it is! I won’t play around with fake stuff, this is exactly my jam!”

Sui Ning nearly spat out a mouthful of water.

[Wait, I get to hear this for free????]

[???? Northeastern bro??]

[No region-bashing, it’s called Dongbaiwang, FYI! (troll face)]

[Holy crap, it’s High-Speed Fawn?!]

The boss clearly saw the chat and didn’t shy away: “What? Got a problem with my ID? If you’re not convinced, come fight me!”

[No no no, wouldn’t dare]

[Big bro, have a smoke!]

[Pass big bro a stool]

[Pass big bro the streamer]

“Let’s go then.” The man crossed his legs. “Streamer brother, you keep playing that badass fox of yours, I’ll be the fawn sticking close to you with all my love.”

…Streamer… brother…?

The chat immediately exploded with joy, riding the joke.

The black-haired young man’s breath hitched, a vein pulsing at his temple.

He glanced at the boss’s ID, closed his eyes, and muttered through clenched teeth: “…Fine. As long as you’re happy.”

Sui Ning queued up for ranked.

This Bobo Milk boss turned out to be a master of hype, constantly tossing out outrageous lines. As support, he never left Sui Ning’s side, booming in his thick northern accent: “Hubby, don’t be scared, bro’s here to save you, mwah!” “Hubby, come receive your fawn!” “Damn them, hubby, avenge me!” The mix of rough and sappy nearly broke Sui Ning’s defenses.

[Damn! Hahahahaha]

[Why does it sound like the boss is actually flirting with the streamer?]

[Not gonna lie, this ship kinda works? What dynamic is this— rugged rich dude top  X cold aloof bottom?]

[Wait wait wait, why’s the boss labeled as a “rich dude,” that’s so low! Can’t he at least be overbearing president type?!]

Right then, the boss’s Spirit Fawn died, and he shouted in voice chat: “Damn it all, hubby, kill them for me!”

[......]

[That’s… not quite overbearing president vibes]

[This is the most tragic slander of overbearing president ever]

[]For overbearing president types… I can only accept the kind played by God Xi— that noble, aloof kind : )]

[Wait what, there are God Xi fans here?]

[Fan clubs get out]

[Shut up, stop slandering the fan clubs. God Xi’s a double Best Actor winner, not some traffic star. What’s wrong with having his fans here?]

[My advice: stop fighting and just watch the boss and streamer’s show, can’t you?]

“Hubby, I respawned! Coming straight to you!”

Sui Ning weakly replied: “…Yeah, got it.”

Watching the stream, Xu Hexuan silently wiped a tear of sympathy for him.

[Rugged top X aloof bottom is kinda shippable, actually]

[Isn’t the streamer the hubby? Why is he automatically the bottom, I’m mad]

[…The boss as the bottom? Damn, just imagining it feels torturous]

The chat got more and more off track, but was soon reeled back in by several brilliant plays from Sui Ning.

After finally finishing the games the boss paid for, Sui Ning collapsed against his chair with a long sigh.

The boss was still fired up: “Streamer brother, another round?”

The black-haired youth’s fingers trembled at the sound of “brother,” utterly drained: “…L-let’s wait, I need to go downstairs and buy something.”

Xu Hexuan shot him a puzzled look.

Sui Ning let out a shaky breath.

He told his viewers he’d take a 15-minute break and muted his mic, tidying his desk a little.

It wasn’t messy, but after years of playing pro, he had the habit of keeping nothing on his desk but mouse, keyboard, and water cup. Over time it became a compulsion—even if the desk was empty, he had to straighten the keyboard and mouse.

“Not streaming anymore? You’ve got good traffic right now.” Xu Hexuan was confused. “What do you need to buy? Cigarettes? …Wait, no, you don’t smoke.”

Sui Ning hummed: “Some late-night snacks. And a bit of fresh air.”

Xu Hexuan immediately grew wary: “What’s with you? Suddenly living it up? Just made some money and already thinking of spending it—don’t you dare!”

The young man gave him a speechless look, leaning against the fridge with arms crossed.

Inside, it was empty.

Xu Hexuan was horrified: “Holy crap—when did you finish the Happy Water?!”

“This morning.” Sui Ning arched a brow, still leaning casually, “Want to go?”

The young man hesitated.

His innate laziness took over, and he sat back down: “Next time, for sure.”

Sui Ning: …^^.
