ALIBEC: Chapter 58 - 2:0

Just as the audience had anticipated, game 2 indeed turned into a true teaching match.

Yuna’s hero mechanics allowed her to both attack and defend. Her ultimate could freeze a target, dealing area damage while immobilizing the enemy. If the ultimate targeted herself, it would restore her HP and grant her brief invincibility.

Combined with her E skill’s two-stage dash and W’s area-root ability, she possessed both burst damage capable of instantly killing an enemy and the durability to absorb damage for her team—a perfect balance of offense and defense.

However, in War of Glory, no hero is flawless, and Yuna’s weaknesses were equally apparent.

All her skill ranges were short—her W freeze could only affect enemies within roughly half a body’s distance. This meant she was easily suppressed in lane by long-range heroes, and in team fights, it was extremely difficult for her to find the right position and timing to deal damage or engage.

A single misstep could cost her life.

“Yet professional players are precisely the ones who break conventions and challenge the impossible.”

After reintroducing Yuna’s mechanics, commentator Qing Ci sighed deeply. “This round, Wind has truly shown us what it means to dance on the edge of a blade. That W-flash combo, followed by the two-stage E to control four or five people—it’s just unbelievably creative.”

At 23 minutes, PNG’s forces were at AQ’s gates, the gold difference stretching to 5,600.

Sui Ning seized the opportunity—he used the first dash of E to force Wang Yuyi out of position, then instantly W-flashed into the fray, ignited, and RAQAA, leaving Wang Yuyi no time to react, killing him on the spot.

[PNG_Wind (Winter Queen) has slain AQ_Miantiao (White Bird)!]

Wang Yuyi slammed the table in frustration. “Damn it, my Cleanse was just a second too late!”

“It’s fine, hold him there! Don’t let him get away!” Lu Yao shouted. “Kill Wind! He’s got no Flash, no ult!”

The four remaining members of AQ surged forward, trying to instantly burst down Sui Ning—but with a metallic ding, a golden light flared—

“Stasis!” Qing Ci slammed the caster’s desk in excitement. “Beautiful! He dodged two lethal CCs! PNG reacted fast too—they’re already moving in to cover him!”

Under the protection of PNG’s four members, Sui Ning successfully retreated from the battlefield, narrowly escaping death.

With their marksman down, AQ had to play cautiously. Gritting his teeth, Lu Yao decided to do what he hadn’t dared in the previous round—abandon the second tower and defend the high ground!

Wei Ye asked, “What now? Keep pressing? Their marksman’s still got twenty seconds on respawn.”

“Fall back—we can’t push high ground right now,” Sui Ning said calmly. “Take the drake, clear jungle, manage the waves, and secure Baron vision.”

“Okay~”

Following his call, PNG didn’t chase the fight and obediently went to secure resources instead.

Seeing this, commentator Chao Mi was suddenly overcome with poetic fervor and passion: “Breaking through the siege, stepping into danger, taking the enemy general’s head amid ten thousand troops—this is what it means to be a true commander! Advancing, he cuts down foes; retreating, he guards his nation!”

“That kill on Miantiao was so decisive—absolutely brilliant! Wind burned both summoners, his teammates were low, and PNG still disengaged right after. No greed at all.”

He sighed in admiration. “This team’s shot-calling is top-notch, and the players follow orders perfectly. These two rounds have been truly…”

He paused mid-sentence, swallowing back the rest—“the gap between the two teams is obvious.”

He himself couldn’t make sense of it either—back in the spring season, these two teams ranked 13th and 14th, both solidly mid-tier in the league. So how did such a huge gap appear right after the off-season?

To be precise, AQ was still the same AQ from last season, but PNG now carried the air of a new king.

It was well-known that one of the most important traits for a top-tier team—whether in the league or globally—was strict discipline and unity. Mid- to lower-ranked teams often failed to achieve that, which led to chaos that spectators derisively called “sleepwalking.”

The strongest teams, through relentless training and individual excellence, could nearly eliminate this “sleepwalking” state—but PNG…?

Chao Mi couldn’t help but wonder. Could changing just one player really have that much of an impact? Or was it the result of a major patch shift?

[666666]

[You’re hyping him up too much!! My inner chuunibyou is awakening!!]

[Since when did Chao Mi become a poet? I’m getting goosebumps!]

[But he’s right though—Wind’s performance this round is insane. When the team needs him as an assassin, he executes kills; when they need him to initiate, he dives; when they need backline protection, he guards perfectly…]

[Exactly. You could see from that Aeria game how sharp his assassin play was—but this one? It’s actually terrifying. Truly all-rounded players are the scariest.]

[This is like a magical girl transformation—how can one person have so many forms!? No wonder AQ has no counterplay: if they focus-mark him, the dual carries protect each other; if they don’t, their own marksman gets deleted. How the hell do you play against that!!]

[If I remember right, Wind’s No.1 Yuna on the national ladder was leveled from zero in just three or four days… I swear I’d kneel.]

[A powerhouse of the battle sect—terrifying beyond words!!]

Qing Ci commented, “To be fair, AQ actually played very well early on. Dami managed to regain his form this round—he pushed hard several waves and even scored multiple double kills. I honestly thought PNG’s bot lane was collapsing—an absolute disaster of an opening.”

“But PNG stayed completely composed,” he continued. “They shifted their focus mid to top, secured Heralds, and played steady, calculated fights through mid-game. Erllit and Myerii’s double initiations were beautifully timed—they completely turned the game around.”

“Yeah, you can clearly see PNG’s tactical thinking this game is entirely different from AQ’s.”

“And during teamfights too,” Chao Mi picked up, “Yuna’s kit means once she dives in, it’s hard for her to make it out alive—but PNG’s coordination perfectly compensates for that. Their synergy is incredible—their cohesion as a unit is top-tier.”

Before he could finish his sentence, at 28 minutes, both sides’ abilities were off cooldown, and AQ attempted to take Baron.

PNG quickly moved toward the pit as well.

“Whoa, this Baron fight!” Qing Ci exclaimed in surprise. “They’ve got to play this carefully—this could very well be the deciding teamfight!”

“Both sides have their key abilities ready, and they’re contesting vision nonstop. Neither team wants to give this Baron away!”

Qing Ci added, “Or rather, AQ can’t afford to give it up—if they do, they’ll never be able to stop PNG’s push! Even though they’re behind nearly 6,000 in gold, they’ve got no choice but to fight it out!”

“Exactly. If AQ loses this Baron, it’s basically game over,” Chao Mi said, scratching his head. “To be honest, the gold gaps in both these rounds have been pretty big—6 to 7k before the 30-minute mark. PNG’s ability to snowball off small advantages is just impossible to guard against.”

Qing Ci continued, “Right now, the initiative is still entirely in PNG’s hands. If they get Baron, they could push straight to AQ’s base. Even if they don’t, it’s not like they’ll get flipped immediately. The key is—they can’t lose both Baron and multiple players!”

“Let’s see who’s going to make the first move on Baron.”

[AQ’s in such an awkward spot—they can’t win a straight 5v5, but they’re too scared to step forward.]

[Honestly, stalling won’t help either. They can’t contest vision, can’t even enter their own jungle. The gold gap will only keep widening. Their only hope is a miracle teamfight.]

[Yeah, if it’s going to come down to a miracle anyway, might as well fight now. If they win, great; if not, GG.]

[Do they still have a chance at Elder Dragon?]

[Doubt it. Even if they drag it out, AQ still has to contest Elder. Unless they trade Baron for Elder—but even then, Baron won’t help them much, while if PNG gets Elder, they’ll just soar.]

[Tough. Really tough. Starting to feel sorry for them now.]

Qing Ci: “Both sides are locked in a deadlock—PNG’s playing very cautiously, holding position and waiting for the right moment. AQ must not let their guard down!”

The commentators and the viewers were tense, but PNG themselves remained perfectly calm.

Sui Ning’s steady voice came through the headset: “We’re the ones with the advantage. No need to rush. Secure vision first and reveal their positions.”

“Don’t break formation.”

Cheng Su: “Got it.”

The cold-faced, stoic guy obediently went to place wards under his teammates’ cover.

When the final ward was placed, it lit up AQ’s position—five of them grouped tightly in the river before the Baron pit.

Sui Ning’s eyes flashed. “Opportunity.”

The moment the enemy formation revealed Wang Yuyi in the backline, Sui Ning didn’t hesitate—he dove straight in to start the fight.

Hearing his cue, Ji Yunyu and Cheng Su almost instinctively followed up with Flash.

“The entire AQ squad’s been spotted by PNG—ohhhhhhh!!!”

The Queen of the North surged in from the right side of the Baron pit with her [W – Bone-Chilling Gale], ice crystals and snowflakes cascading down as if a winter kingdom had descended.

The deadly frost aura beneath her feet was perfectly concealed by the golden flash of teleportation—so when she suddenly appeared in the middle of AQ’s formation, the four players around her instinctively turned their heads, faces frozen in dumbfounded confusion.

The commentator roared in excitement: “Winnnnnd——!! Another W-flash! He froze four!! My god, the W animation was completely hidden—AQ couldn’t react at all! And remember, W’s cast time is very short, meaning W-flash has a high failure rate!”

“But he hasn’t failed it once this whole game—Wind’s execution is flawless, effortless! Pygg was positioned farther away and avoided the root, and Miantiao reacted fast, instantly using Cleanse—”

“But it’s no use! Wind and Cloud are both locked onto him! Miantiao still has one more second of invulnerability from his ult—can they counterattack? Teammates, support him, quick!!”

Lu Yao: “Miantiao, run!”

As the support, he was already CC’d and had no Cleanse—he could only shout encouragement.

Wang Yuyi gritted his teeth. “Damn it, these two cling like leeches!”

“You’ve still got your ult—can you make a play? Hold out!”

“Play my ass!” Wang Yuyi was scrambling all over the place as Sui Ning and Ji Yunyu sliced through him. He couldn’t help but curse. “You tell me—how the hell am I supposed to play this?!”

Xu Tianrui was panicking too. “I can’t get through, can’t reach—can we disengage?!”

At the same time, the commentator shouted, “It’s over, it’s over! Yuna still has her ultimate! The damage from Shadow of Vengeance is massive too—can they save Miantiao?!—Whoa, look! PNG’s frontline and support are locking down the rest of AQ!”

“That’s it, Miantiao’s done for.”

[PNG_Cloud (Shadow of Vengeance) has slain AQ_Miantiao (White Bird)!]

Qing Ci: “Those two dove in like absolute tyrants—no room for negotiation!! But for AQ, the good news is Wind’s now got no Flash and no ult. If they can pin her down, the fight’s still on!”

Zhou Hang had the same thought, grinding his teeth. “Kill Yuna!”

“Can’t—she still has Stasis, are you crazy?” Lu Yao said anxiously. “Focus their marksman first—no one’s dealing with that Brother Spear?!”

Deal with what, your damn calls? Zhou Hang cursed internally. Do you even understand the game?! Yuna just killed Wang Yuyi—this is her weakest moment, all skills on cooldown, only one Stasis left! If you don’t kill her now, she’ll reset her cooldowns and Q your whole team to death later!

Grinding his teeth in frustration, Zhou Hang charged off on his own—straight toward Sui Ning.

But with their marksman dead and one fewer player on the field, the already disadvantaged team fight instantly lost both of its carries — how were they supposed to win now? Their collapse was only a matter of time.

[PNG_Mior (Soul-Piercing Spear) has slain AQ_Zeta (Radiant Goddess)!]

[PNG_Mior (Soul-Piercing Spear) has slain AQ_Hommie (Soul-Sealing Blade Demon)!]

[PNG_Mior (Soul-Piercing Spear) has slain AQ_Pygg (Dragon Monk)!]

[Triple Kill!]

[PNG_Mior (Soul-Snatching Spear) is unstoppable!]

By the time Zhou Hang finally managed to kill the weakened Yuna, PNG’s kill announcements had already been ringing one after another, and his face grew paler with each one.

When he turned back, his team’s frontline had already been utterly crushed.

——

Zhou Hang escaped, but that last 1-for-4 Baron fight sealed the victory once and for all. PNG secured Baron, pushed forward with their momentum, and ended the game in one decisive sweep.

As the scoreboard changed from PNG 1:0 AQ to 2:0, the lights above the arena burst on, flooding the room with brilliance.

On the AR display, dazzling fireworks exploded across the screen, and bold golden letters appeared at the center:

WINNER - PNG

Qing Ci: “Congratulations to PNG! A 2:0 start — their first win of the summer split, an excellent opening performance!”

Zhao Ni clapped enthusiastically: “What a night! These two games gave us so many unforgettable highlights! I believe Wind’s debut today will leave a lasting impression on every Summoner out there! He was the brightest star on the stage tonight!”

[Lasting impression? More like unforgettable for life!]

[I’m Wind’s little puppy, heheh~]

[Feng-bao, I’m losing it—this guy, my god, this guy is too strong! Who the hell dares to say rank kings can’t survive in pro play now?!]

[Well yeah, most solo queue stars flop in pro matches, but Wind’s clearly the exception.]

[Stop analyzing! Hurry up, hurry up, give us the post-match interview!!! I want to see Feng-bao up close!!]

“The MVP for Game 1 — no doubt about it — goes to Wind’s Aeria!”

On the big screen appeared Sui Ning’s photo and stats:

KDA:13/0/6

Kill Participation: 77.3%

Damage Share: 37.6%

DMG/Gold Conversion Rate: 175%

Gold Advantage (vs lane opponent): +5950

MVP COUNT:1

MVP Count: 1

At that, even the viewers who had been busy admiring his looks suddenly fell silent in awe.

[Holy hell — 37.6% damage share and 175% efficiency? Did his teammates even exist?]

[Now I finally get why everyone screams to ban Aeria. The numbers speak for themselves — that’s terrifying. Others hit 130% and they’re called “hard carry.” This is insane.]

[Any team that doesn’t ban Aeria against PNG from now on deserves a report.]

[Yuna in Game 2 was just as terrifying — I don’t even know how to describe it, but she completely dismantled AQ!]

Even the battle-hardened Qing Ci couldn’t help drawing in a sharp breath. “My god… I’ve said ‘my god’ way too many times today, but Wind just keeps shocking me.”

“You could already tell during the match, but the stats make it crystal clear — this game was Wind’s personal showcase!”

Before long, the Game 2 report came out. MVP once again went to Sui Ning, for his 6/1/17 performance on the Winter Queen — bringing his MVP total to two.

Chao Mi couldn’t help sighing again: “His first professional series, his debut Bo3 — he got a pentakill, drew respect bans, one-shot enemies with a single Q, played with surgical precision… and then took home two MVPs! Wind has set yet another record!”

He laughed and shook his head. “That’s it. I think I’ve become a Wind fan too.”

——

The eager fans waited nearly twenty minutes for the post-match interview to begin.

The interviewer was Xiao Luo — a glamorous host on the surface, but secretly one of Wind’s biggest fangirls. The moment she saw Sui Ning walking out of the player tunnel again, her eyes lit up. She practically skipped toward him in her high heels.

Sui Ning came to a stop beside her.

Xiao Luo curved her lips into a dazzling smile, trying to calm her wildly thumping heart. After a few polite exchanges, she got straight to the point: “Wind, everyone’s witnessed your incredible performance today — especially that pentakill in Game 1! Are you satisfied with how you played?”

Sui Ning blinked, paused for a few seconds, then answered, “…It was okay.”

[666666]

[That’s it. He’s in full cool mode now.]

[‘Pentakill — okay.’ ‘Unstoppable — okay.’ What’s next, ‘Slaughtered pigs — okay’?]

[Damn it, Feng-bao, tone down that kingly aura!!]

Even pretending to be humble, he was adorable. Xiao Luo’s smile grew even sweeter. “But we all know that you only recently started your professional career. You used to work in the entertainment industry — what made you decide to make such a change?”

Sui Ning fell silent again, a hint of melancholy crossing his face. “…Uh. I realized I’d taken a wrong path.”

He added after a pause, “I was young and foolish before.”

[LMAOOOO]

[‘Took a wrong path’ — what the hell kind of answer is that hahaha.]

[Baby, you were just bragging a minute ago! Say it louder — Feng-bao can’t sing or dance to save his life!!]

[Help, Wind’s singing and dancing career lives rent-free in my head.]

[Thank god he corrected course early — he saved our ears and our eyes!]

Xiao Luo laughed so hard she could barely stand straight; her microphone trembled in her hand. “Then, hahaha… which do you prefer — competing in the HPL or being an entertainer?”

Sui Ning didn’t even hesitate. “HPL.”

“Why’s that?”

“I really like competing.” He paused, then gave a small, rare smile. “And I really like my fans.”

“AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!”

“MOM, HE SAID HE LIKES ME!!!”

“FENG-BAO, WE LOVE YOU TOO AAAAAHHHH!!”

Before the live chat could even explode, the fans waiting at the venue screamed themselves hoarse.

Ahhh! Xiao Luo was screaming silently inside too.

She took several deep breaths, forcing herself to keep a straight face. Her next question came out more delicately, her red lips curving slightly: “Recently, a lot of your former fans online have been discussing your past — about your time in the entertainment world and some conflicts with your previous show. Do you have anything you’d like to say to them?”

…Former fans? More like former haters, he thought with mild exasperation.

After a moment’s thought, Sui Ning replied, “Regarding that show, the club’s handling most of it now — I don’t really know the details. As for the old fans… hmm, I just want to say — I used to rely on my looks, but now I rely on my skills. You all have great taste.”

[HAHAHAHAHAH I CAN’T.]

[Why can he say jokes with a straight face?!]

[I’m losing it — so you can show off in every way except singing and dancing, huh, cheeky little Feng-bao?!]

[To be fair, he’s not wrong. I saw him back in that ‘Idol Gas Station’ show… I laughed out loud. People only liked him for that face, honestly.]

“Oh, I see~” Xiao Luo narrowed her eyes playfully, ready to tease him. “Then when can your fans expect a song again? Or maybe a dance? You know, fan service~”

Fans: …Are you trying to kill him???

Sui Ning: …What are you doing?

After a brief silence, he answered coldly with a single word: “No.”

He’d never had any real singing or dancing training in his past life — and remembering how the previous him performed on that show, Sui Ning silently swore to himself:

Gaming was fine. Singing and dancing? Absolutely not.

Even the fans fell silent.

But they secretly adored this side of him — the way their Feng-bao pretended to be stern but was soft inside… Still, if one day he did perform again, should they praise him or not?
