ALIBEC: Chapter 54 - Penta

At 5 minutes and 50 seconds, while Xu Tianrui's Flash was still on cooldown, the level 6 Sui Ning and Ji Yunyu coordinated a mid–jungle gank on the top lane.

With Wei Ye's Verdant Treant’s Root Control, Sui Ning successfully secured the kill.

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) killed AQ_Hommie (Broken King)!]

“Damn it!!” Xu Tianrui groaned, slamming his fist into his palm. “Again?!”

Zhou Hang glanced at him. “Be more careful.”

“They dove me under tower—how the hell am I supposed to be careful?” Xu Tianrui grumbled. “You guys better get things rolling in mid or bot!”

He wasn't wrong—since his death was inevitable and reinforcements couldn't arrive in time, the team needed to compensate for the loss somewhere else.

"It's fine, it's fine, we got the dragon."

AQ reacted quickly; seeing Ji Yunyu appear top, Chen Jing immediately secured the drake in the bottom lane.

Xu Tianrui sighed and trudged back to lane in defeat.

At 8 minutes, two familiar figures appeared again.

The silent Coldfront Lord followed by the bouncy little blue-haired sprite appeared together in the tri-bush vision.

Xu Tianrui: "I swear to god, are you two a couple? What's wrong with you??"

He furiously clicked on Ji Yunyu and Sui Ning's portraits, as if it were his last act of defiance before death.

But it was useless. Aeria’s flying stars were basically auto-aiming, and against his short-legged hero without Flash, he was a sitting duck. Ji Yunyu used his ultimate to whittle Xu Tianrui's health down to a sliver, and Sui Ning's second Q neatly finished him off.

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) killed AQ_Hommie (Broken King)!]

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) is on a Killing Spree!]

"Couldn't even leave the kill for me, damn."

Xu Tianrui dropped two question marks on his own corpse, sighing miserably. “Ugh, the enemy mid and jungle are gone—they're probably taking Rift Herald.”

Chen Jing immediately replied, “No way, we're committing bot. Dami and I are pushing. Give up Herald.”

With no dragon on the map, there wasn't much else to contest in the lower half of the map. After thinking it over, Xu Tianrui decided to teleport back to the lane. "I'm TPing top."

Lu Yao answered, “Got it.”

Soon after, Aeria reappeared mid after a short roam.

Good—one half of the conjoined twins was now visible. Xu Tianrui let out a sigh of relief.

But before he could clear a few waves, Ji Yunyu showed up again—with the Herald buff in tow.

And not only that, he came in looking determined to take the tower.

Xu Tianrui: “…Are you kidding me? Where’s my team—someone save me!”

——

"Chao Mi, don't you think PNG's tempo has been focused entirely on top lane this game?"

Qing Ci frowned slightly. "Yeah, this is way off from what we predicted. We thought they'd play around the bot side since they picked the Radiant-Spear combo, but Erllit and Mior have just been scaling safely in lane, ducking into bushes whenever anything happens. Dami's rotations bot hasn't found any openings at all."

"Exactly. AQ wanted to create plays through bot side skirmishes, but PNG just refuses to play that game. They basically gave up the first dragon for free!"

Chao Mi scratched his head. “It's an Ocean Drake. They traded it for Herald. Not sure what PNG's long-term plan is.”

"In yesterday's Day 1 matches, everyone still prioritized early dragon fights. This is the first time we've seen a team take this approach."

Qing Ci rubbed his chin. “Could this mean that PNG… has their own understanding of the new patch?”

"I think so. From drafting to tempo control, they've surprised us at every step. Especially Wind—nothing about his laning or roams says 'rookie.'"

Chao Mi laughed. “Yeah, he really moves like the wind.”

Meanwhile, Coach Fan Fan was watching from backstage, utterly perplexed.

His coaching instincts told him PNG's playstyle was actually the correct way to approach the new patch—but he couldn't quite pinpoint what made it so effective.

…Same offseason prep, same 6.2.0 patch reset—how could there already be such a massive gap between us and PNG? He found it hard to believe.

But the facts spoke for themselves.

At 14 minutes, using the pressure from top lane, PNG secured another Rift Herald. AQ's top outer turret fell. Unlike Wei Ye, who could TP to assist his team at any time, Xu Tianrui had to spend extra effort managing his lane.

At 16:31, shortly after the third dragon spawned, AQ attempted a sneaky take—but PNG caught them red-handed.

Without hesitation, Wei Ye pressed TP to join the fight in the bot lane.

Seeing the enemy teleport beam, Xu Tianrui gritted his teeth, abandoned a huge wave of minions, and moved straight toward the lower half of the map.

"Both top laners just used TP—are they really going to fight this?" Chao Mi exclaimed. "But it's not a good fight! AQ's already three thousand gold behind!"

Marksman Wang Yuyi took the chance to land a couple of shots on Wei Ye, only to realize, dismayed, that his attacks barely made a dent. “Why is that damn treant so tanky?”

"No kidding! He got my First Tower gold and five plates!" Xu Tianrui snarled. "You know how far ahead that puts him?!"

He was pissed. He'd picked a fighter top to dominate lane, build momentum, and set the tone—yet he'd been ganked over and over by those two conjoined twins, his tempo completely ruined, and now even a walking tree was stomping on his head.

…Damn it. Xu Tianrui's eyes locked onto Sui Ning's character on the screen, his molars grinding audibly.

Fast as the wind, huh? So mobile, huh? Just wait until I ult—you'll be done for!

Xu Tianrui growled, "Their Aeria’s getting fed. When we fight, burst her down first."

But Lu Yao disagreed. "We can't fight this. Bot lane's got no summoners—fall back, fall back!"

The shotcaller had spoken, and AQ collectively retreated.

Xu Tianrui glanced at the minion wave he'd lost top lane. "...Damn, that hurts."

——

"Feels like AQ's early and mid game are off."

Qing Ci began analyzing the match. “Their resource trades are poor. PNG’s playing way more proactively—taking Herald, pushing top. AQ got a dragon bot, sure, but the gold gap just keeps widening.”

[Honestly, I don't get how the gold lead got this big. AQ's been trying to trade every wave, right?]

[Tower plating, bro—over a thousand gold! Wei Ye's Mioen is a tank monster, ahead by 1k already, ridiculous.]

[Mid lane's even crazier. Aeria didn't take a single tower plate but is still up by 1.9k…]

[Not gonna lie, Dami seems tilted this game. Tried to gank bot so many times and never got anything.]

[Yeah, bot lane drafted cocky picks but ended up sitting in bushes playing scared. Who'd have thought?]

[And even so, they didn't fall behind in farm. PNG's teamfighting looks way stronger.]

Both commentators and viewers tried to make sense of the situation, while team analysts across the arena scratched their heads watching.

Backstage, Chen Chen smirked with satisfaction, taking a sip of warm water like a scheming villain. “Good. Keep it up. That's the rhythm I want.”

At 23:14 , the fourth dragon spawned, and both teams grouped around the pit once more.

PNG approached from the left, through their jungle and mid-river entrance, while AQ looped in from the right.

"Start the drake," Sui Ning ordered. "Watch AQ's position—I'll guard the flank."

He stood near the upper-left bush by the wall—a vision blind spot from AQ's perspective.

Cheng Su: “We contest Smite or go for kills?”

"Smite fight. Let them come," Ji Yunyu said, pulling the dragon out of the pit. "Burn it fast."

Lin Zhaoxu clicked his mouse so furiously his hand blurred. "We're hitting, we're hitting—watch your Smite timing!"

Ji Yunyu: “Got it.”

The drake's HP dropped rapidly—2500, 2000, 1500…

The first to make a move was Xu Tianrui.

He hadn't located Sui Ning yet. Clicking his tongue, he decided Lin Zhaoxu was a fine enough target and Flash-engaged. "I'm in! I'm in! Focus the AD, AD, AD—!!"

Controlling his Phantom Assassin, jungler Chen Jing—another backline diver—hesitated for a moment and instead went for the dragon, preparing to steal it.

Sui Ning: "They're going for the steal—watch it, Xiao Yunduo! "

In his urgency, Sui Ning accidentally blurted out Ji Yunyu's private nickname.

Ji Yunyu: “…Ah. 0///0”

Wei Ye: ?

Lin Zhaoxu: ?

Referee listening in on voice comms: ?

Cheng Su quickly covered, "I've got eyes—how many are marking their Caitlyn?"

Wei Ye instantly followed up, “On me!”

That unexpected… nickname had startled him for a moment, but there was no time to dwell on it. Once Cheng Su spoke, everyone's focus snapped back to the fight.

No matter what, as the initiator, Wei Ye never took his eyes off the enemy marksman.

Xu Tianrui do first. Zhou Hang reacted fast, using E to follow up—

But once again, a familiar purple meteor streaked across the field, cutting him off.

"Broken King's got no Flash—focus him first!" Lin Zhaoxu shouted as the enemy closed in on him. "Peel for me, peel for me!"

Cheng Su: “Pull back a little, son—burst down Broken King first!”

"Focus him down! Kill their marksman!" Xu Tianrui gritted his teeth. "I don't have enough tank items—can't hold much longer!"

Zhou Hang was getting anxious too. "Damn it, Aeria’s blocking my path! I can't get through—follow up, follow up!"

Pressed on both sides by their top and mid, marksman Wang Yuyi finally couldn't hold back and stepped forward to output damage.

"Got her!" Wei Ye's eyes lit up. "Caitlyn's controlled!"

The Verdant Treant lunged forward with a vicious grin. Forced to retreat, Wang Yuyi burned Flash backward, missing his window to output damage.

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) has slain AQ_Hommie (Broken King)!]

Cut off from his team, Xu Tianrui was killed.

PNG’s voice comms instantly turned into chaos.

“ADADADADADAD—!!”

Cheng Su: “Dragon, dragon—watch the dragon’s HP!”

[Blue Team has slain the Dragon!]

“Nice! Slow down, kite back!”

Lin Zhaoxu’s keyboard clattered furiously. “Focus fire, focus fire! Kill that support!”

“Their support’s peeling—Holy Healer’s low, finish her off! No Flash!—Good, she’s dead, she’s dead!”

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) has slain AQ_Zeta (Holy Healer)!]

[Double Kill!]

“Slow down, slow down! Watch Yuna—she still has ult! Watch Yuna! Damn it, I’m dying here!” Wei Ye roared. “Is anyone watching Yuna?!”

Sui Ning: “I’m watching.”

The young man kept his word.

He weaved through the fight, dealing poke damage from range while keeping Zhou Hang completely locked down, refusing to let Yuna enter the fray.

Zhou Hang was getting frustrated. Seeing Lin Zhaoxu drifting farther and farther away, he turned and threw a crowd-control combo, RQ, straight onto Sui Ning.

…Fine, if I can’t kill your marksman, killing you will do.

Zhou Hang snorted softly.

Cheng Su’s eyes widened—a rare crack in his poker face. “Aeria! Watch Wind! Save him, save him!”

“Feng-bao—!!”

“Save Feng-bao!! Protect him!!”

Even Lin Zhaoxu, escaping the chaos, was shouting, “Save my dad! Nobody touches my dad!!”

Sui Ning: …

The young man’s lips twitched helplessly. He glanced at his noisy teammates—some chasing, some peeling, some running around half-dead.

Loud as hell, yet not a single one was actually helping.

…As expected, it’s all on me.

He exhaled softly, silently cast R to pull back for distance, and with half HP left, unleashed QEAWAQ plus Ignite to finish Zhou Hang off.

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) has slain AQ_Dami (Winter Queen)!]

[Triple Kill!]

“Nice!! Dad!!”

“Feng-bao~~~ Sugoi!!”

“Too strong, Feng-bao—!”

Ji Yunyu reacted first. “Triple kill! Any more? Don’t let them get away!”

“Forget that useless Phantom Assassin!” Wei Ye shouted, voice the loudest of them all. “Focus Caitlyn! She’s got no Flash!!”

He added loudly, “I’m low, can’t chase—switching to observer mode!”

Sui Ning’s eardrums buzzed. “…Got it…”

——

“Myerii really came in clutch that fight—instantly blocked Miantiao, completely cutting off AQ’s marksman’s first damage window! Their top laner just got deleted!”

“Beautiful dragon secure! God Cloud’s Smite was perfect—no chance for a steal! And Erllit’s zoning was textbook! Pygg tried to contest but was one step behind!”

“Whoa—look at that! Turns around, lands a clean second Q, perfect execution—Triple Kill secured! Wind absolutely nailed that teamfight, perfect positioning and spacing!”

The commentators were shouting with excitement. “Zero for three trade! Wind’s Triple Kill! PNG’s still chasing—what’s next? Miantiao’s got no Flash! Pygg’s running the other way—one of them might escape—OH!!!!”

This time, the broadcast director had learned his lesson. As soon as Chen Jing and Wang Yuyi split up, the camera switched from spectator view to PNG’s player perspective—half the map instantly swallowed by the black fog of war.

No one expected that this switch of camera angles would let the audience witness an even more breathtaking scene.

In the darkness, Aeria—who had been hiding in the lower river’s triangle brush—suddenly threw her Q in the opposite direction, then used the first cast of R to vault over the wall into the red side’s blue jungle. Without missing a beat, she Flashed again—landing precisely between the red side’s bottom inner and outer turrets.

From her perspective, there was nothing but pitch blackness all around.

Yet the blue-haired girl moved with absolute confidence. A [Q – Meteor Orbit] shot from across the void and hit dead on the bush beneath the second turret—where the enemy Phantom Assassin was lurking.

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) has slain AQ_Pygg (Phantom Assassin)!]

[Quadra Kill!]

The moment the system announcement sounded, Aerie’s [R – Interstellar Leap] auto-return effect triggered, pulling her gracefully back to her original spot.

She flicked a strand of her sapphire-blue hair, flashed a proud smile, and walked away in style.

The commentator erupted, roaring into the mic:

“——Winnnnnnnnnnd!!!”

“My God! How did he even do that?!”

There was no time to analyze—the second commentator, Qing Ci, was already tripping over his words. “The camera’s back to bot lane again! PNG’s still chasing—Miantiao’s caught! He can’t run—are they giving this kill? Let him have it, let him have it!”

Cheng Su, who’d been leading the chase, landed a crucial CC and root, stalling the last few seconds.

Sui Ning barely arrived in time—claiming the final bounty for himself.

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) has slain AQ_Miantiao (Gunslinger Caitlyn)!]

[Penta Kill!]

[PNG_Wind (Stellar Sprite) is Legendary!]

[Ace!]

The blood-red Pentakill banner exploded across the center of the screen, and the crowd instantly erupted like a tidal wave.

In that moment—whether online or on-site, whether they were PNG fans, Sui Ning fans, or just stunned spectators—everyone shouted a single name in unison.

“——Winnnnnnnnnd!!!”

“——Wind! Wind! Wind!!!”

Dark stage lights swept over thousands of ecstatic faces.

[Winnnnnnnnnnd!!!!]

In the Longhu Esports Arena in Shanghai, twenty-five thousand people chanted Sui Ning’s in-game ID in unison. The roar was so deafening it seemed to pierce even the soundproof glass and custom noise-canceling headsets—reaching faintly into Sui Ning’s ears.

He froze for a second, then couldn’t help but curve his lips into a faint, gentle smile—tinged with warmth and nostalgia.

The camera caught that exact moment. Fans screamed again, wave after wave.

“I can’t—I can’t breathe!!”

“Feng-bao, Feng-bao, Feng-bao—aaaaaahhh!!”

“He’s so damn handsome—and he got a Penta Kill! How did both those things happen at once?!”

One fan weakly clutched her forehead. “Damn it, all those so-called esports dramas—come take notes! This is what a real male lead looks like!!”

“Help! I’m combusting! I’m literally flammable!!!”
